The synesthetic Method

Every piece starts with a sound. Through synesthesia, it transforms into color and composition

The Sound
As someone with synesthesia, I experience sound as color and movement. When I listen to music, certain tones immediately trigger specific colors and emotional textures in my mind. I pay attention to the atmosphere of the piece, the feeling it creates, and how different sounds interact with each other. Instead of only hearing the music, I observe it as a visual experience that begins to form naturally in my mind.
Structural Analysis

After the first sensory impression, I begin to analyze the structure of the music. I listen for rhythm, repetition, pauses, and the rise and fall of intensity throughout the piece. These elements help me understand how the composition moves over time. This structural layer guides how the painting will flow, where tension will appear, and where the image needs space or contrast.

Separating colour
Once the sound and structure are clear, I begin separating the colors that emerged during listening. Different instruments, tones, or emotional shifts often appear as different colors in my perception. I isolate these colors and decide which ones dominate and which ones remain subtle. This step allows me to translate the complexity of the sound into a clear visual palette.
Final composition

In the final stage, I bring structure and color together into a composition. The placement of forms follows the rhythm and movement of the music, while the colors reflect the emotional atmosphere of the sound. The goal is not to illustrate the music literally, but to capture its internal experience. The final image becomes a visual translation of what the music felt like in my mind.
